Movie Forecast

I totally need to unwind from a previously super stressful weekend. I am attempting to do so by sharing with y'all the top five upcoming movies that I am very much looking forward to seeing...because movies relax me. It's escapism at its best, right?

I've been waiting for these films for a long time actually. I mean, let's face it--2010 has not been a stellar year for the film industry thus far, and I'm not talking about box office sales. I'm talking about great movies. The kind that you leave the theater NOT regretting the twenty dollars you just forked over for a ticket and one drink!

So far, the only two movies I've really liked this year were The Town and The Social Network. I give them both very solid B+'s. But I'm looking for some A's, and really hoping a few of the following are going to break the slump:

5)DUE DATE

I need a good laugh, and I know Zach Galifianakis can deliver. That guy is wacked. Also, I've really grown to like post-rehab-and-turned-his-life-around-Robert-Downey-Jr. as an actor. He's a perfect contrast. Plus I've got a thing for dogs with cones.

4)FAIR GAME

This one is IN-tense y'all. And I am a sucker for true life stories. For real though, I still can't believe that woman's identity got leaked. Politics suck. Especially right now---I swear I'm going to scream if I see one more political bashing candidate commercial on t.v.---I digress though. It's two immensely talented actors and DRAMA!! gets me excited :)

3)MORNING GLORY

I have been waiting for this one forever. I love me some Rachel McAdams! She's so cute and talented, and I totally hold no feelings against her for formerly dating Ryan...MY MAN (see sidebar). Just by having a great supporting cast, funny soundbites, and using Natasha Bedingfields "Strip Me" (which is, like, a really good song), I already give the preview an A!

2)BLACK SWAN
This one looks freaky! They're calling it a psychological thriller, which is awesome, and I gotta see why it appears Portman is LIT-terally turning into a swan. I'm also super interested in this attempt to portray Portman and Kunis as professional grade dancers. I bet they killed themselves preparing for these roles. I like that french actor dude from Oceans Twelve who is playing the artistic director too. Not to even mention it's like the more respected, better acted version of Center Stage!!!

1)COUNTRY STRONG

Gwynieeeee!! She's back! I half love/half totally jealously hate Gwyneth Paltrow, but I see every movie she makes. Her country accent sounds a little ridiculous in the preview, but I'm going to go ahead and give her the benefit of the doubt since she has hands down the best fake british accent in the biz. I've also read a lot of press on her role and she keeps talking about how difficult it was....not to mention how she's really singing in the movie. AND apparently debuting a country song at the CMA's in November. I gotta see this.

Do you like my pics or think them ridiculous? What movies do Y'ALL wanna see???

p.s. No, Harry Potter is not on my radar. sorry peeps!

Sleepy Baby

It is a very rare occasion that I have to wake lil'bub up. Like, maybe two or three times a year. RARE. Anyway, we have to be at school by 9-9:15am, so it's best if she wakes by around 7:30am, because that gives us plenty of time to get ready. And usually this is no problem at all. Usually, she is monkey-ing around her crib, talking up a storm, totally ready for me to get my butt out of bed and come play.

Not this morning. No ma'am.

This morning, I woke up at 8am and looked over at the monitor and lil'bub was still snorin' zzzzz's. I went in to make sure she was, in fact, breathing (yes, I still occasionally do that) and it was so strange not to see her bouncing, smiling face staring up at me. So I had to take a picture of course.

So precious. Blankets kicked off (per usual). Dolly and puppy tossed to the side. And curled up in the cute little ball she makes every night.

It took thirty minutes to get this girl up! I tried kisses and tickles, photo flash (ha!) and, chanting "AVEEEEERYYYYYY, it's time to get up sugarbeeeeeeee." She was so content to stay in her ball. Reminded me a little too much of myself! Thankfully, she did eventually stir awake. The sleeping late and cuteness were almost worth the tornado I had to become to get her ready for school on time. Almost.

omg

I'm a little fragile right now. The fourth season of Mad Men is officially over. It was amazing as usual, and I'm already in mourning. I now fear for the withdrawal symptoms that will inevitably start next Sunday night. I'm also still a little in shock.

This show never stops surprising me. Maybe some of you other Mad Men watchers expected all that, but I kept waiting for Don to wake up from a dream or something!! Wowzers. I need some time to process all this....but not quite the next NINE months I am going to have to spend waiting for this show to return. Blah.

If you don't watch this amazing show, you are nuts. There. I said it.

But don't take offense....it's late, and I'm tired. We'll be back to your regularly scheduled lil'bub programming next week, I promise! AND I am still working hard on the site for Sugar Bee Designs, although I'm not finding much time lately to concentrate. However, I did finish my little Sugar Bee Designs button, see top of sidebar. Must sleep now.

Updates

Update #1- yes, my shoes and I did have a fantastic time at my high school reunion, thank you for wondering!

Update #2- the Halloween costume poll is now officially closed and the winner is.....BUMBLE BEE!! I am so excited to see lil'bub in her bumble bee costume. We will be taking photos very soon, I promise.

Update #3- I actually have another "bee" announcement...I am working really hard on getting my blog&card design site up, and my new little business is officially called SugarBee Designs!! Named after lil'bub of course! SugarBee is one our (many) favorite nicknames for Avery. I can't wait to share it with all of you. As soon as I wrap up the baby announcement and holiday card I am working on this week, I will be able to finish the site and finally have somewhere to show off all my designs. Can't wait!

I sure do hate to blog without any photos, so here are some cute older ones that I have been playing with in Photoshop, enjoy :)

And the BEST HUB AWARD goes to....

MY hub! (you know--Bub the hub) What?! there's an award for that? you might be asking...well, yes, I might have made the award up, but I'm still handing it out. Because that sweet hub watched me drool day after day after fantastical designer shoes that I really really really want, but cannot afford on a mommy's salary...and then he decided to splurge for an early anniversary gift that makes me so happy, I might burst.

Behold the beautifulness:

I am in awe. And in love.

(with both hub and shoes of course)

And just in time to wear to my ten year high school reunion on Saturday! Man, that's exciting. Now I just need to find a dress to go with them. But who even cares about the dress?! It's all about the shoes.
